Blog stats and the power of social media + word of mouth

I’ve seen a spike in visits to my social media blog, thanks to the super responsive and collegial folks @ASU. It’s been great to build relationships with colleagues who are looking at ways to use emerging media to maintain relationships with current and former students, campus constituents and to  reach new audiences.

sophiakristina_wordpress_stats_This is what our field is really about (or should be about)–being able to email or @ your counterpart at another institution and know that you’ll be able to share resources and be candid about what works and what hasn’t worked in the field. We’re all doing the same thing: making our universities a better place by making ourselves and the information we have more accessible; opening up vertical and horizontal lines of communication; and sharing stories about how the work that we do as a community impacts the rest of the world in big and small ways.
